Improvisation sounded nice, but you missed the Animando (to become more animated in tempo, not spirit like Animato) and played it flat. The rest of the Improvisation sounded fine, I disagree with some of the breath placements but it’s your interpretation.
The Caprice… If you blow through it like that with any disregard to musicality, it’s pointless. Marcel Mule himself cared more for musicality over technique, believed that technique should be present but not overtake the former.

@jbargermusic
It was amazing and I bull shat myself.
….and I only am referring to the Caprice….the Improvisation was better overall, in my opinion.

Why did you circular breathe almost all of it? This was not written to be a piece that showed off circular breathing, in fact, Bozza intentionally inserts rests at the ends of the phrases for a fast but normal breathe. I am all for a circular breath if you are in absolute need, but there is no need to use it in this piece at the tempo you took it.

Outstanding playing on a very difficult piece! Best wishes with all of your college studies.

you performed this piece when you were a freshman?
that’s unbelievable!

Everything was great. I agree that Bozza would have made the caprice without the pauses if breathing wasn’t a problem. I played this when I was a junior in high school, not as good, but I do know the difficulty of the piece. The circular breathing was great and still wish that I could do that.

Rushing to much on caprice way to much and there are rests you know! Improvisation was really good though

Hey, thanks for the comment! The recordings that I own of this piece are by Jamal Rossi, Nicolas Prost, Todd Oxford, Harvey Pittel, and Daniel Loudenback.
